Lori Piasecki works on the front line at Harris Financial Group as an assistant to advisors Jamie Cox, Carl Beck and Stephen Harrison. That means she spends much of her day working closely with the firm’s clients.

“When someone calls us, most of the time I’m going to be the first one they talk to,” she says.

Lori helps clients with a wide range of day-to-day issues and ensures that clients connect with an advisor when they need one.

“Any time a client has a question, if I don’t have the answer, I’m going to find it for them and they’re not going to have to wait long,” Lori says. “That’s the attitude with everybody who works here.”

Lori previously served as a customer service representative in the insurance industry, but she felt that her position didn’t always give her the ability to truly help customers. Her work at HFG is different.

“If someone calls and needs help, I know that I can get them what they need and make a positive difference in their lives,” Lori said. “I really, really appreciate that.”

At Harris, Lori embraces the diversity and unpredictability of her work. Guided by the needs of clients and the firm, “every day is different,” she says. “I love the variety of what I do.”

I love hearing about our clients’ lives. I love to get stories about the grandkids and to see pictures of their families. I love all of that, and I feel lucky that I get to have those conversations while also helping them. I feel like I really know them, and I think that helps us be even better at serving them as clients.

Lori graduated from the College of William & Mary with a B.S. in Chemistry and while she reveled in the intellectual rigors of the discipline, she realized that her day-to-day interactions with other people would be limited if she remained in the field. She wanted a career that gave her an opportunity to connect more with others.

Lori gets that opportunity at Harris Financial Group. Clients often call her to share personal news, even if it isn’t directly related to their relationship with the firm. She says, “That is special to me.”

“I love hearing about our clients’ lives,” Lori says. “I love to get stories about the grandkids and to see pictures of their families. I love all of that, and I feel lucky that I get to have those conversations while also helping them. I feel like I really know them, and I think that helps us be even better at serving them as clients.”

Lori said she values the integrity and kindness she finds among her colleagues at Harris Financial Group. Their focus is on what’s best for their clients at all times, creating a workplace that always feels fulfilling, she says.

“We always err on the side of doing the right thing,” she said. “If it takes extra time or effort, that’s fine as long as we have treated the client fairly and kindly. That kind of approach is really important to me.”

Lori likes to spend her free time with her dogs Sassy and Samwise – “they’re my favorite creatures of all time” – and her family. She reads a lot, spurred on by a lifelong love of learning, and exercises her creative skills as a seamstress sewing historical costumes. She is also active in her church, participating in various ministries and serving as the volunteer director for the children’s choir.
